I agree that it all depends on your market--where you plan to conduct business and what you plan to sell. I also applaud you for your determination to learn the language for your potential customers, rather than just assuming that everyone will speak English.
Spanish is clearly the first choice in the USA. However, French is highly prized in Africa, and is much more desirable than Spanish in Europe. And of course, French is one of two official languages of Canada.
Finally: Spanish is NOT "easier" than French, with the exception of spelling/phonetics. The grammatical structures and vocabulary are very similar, but words in French are closer to English. (We have so many Latin-based words in English thanks to William the Conqueror's entry in England in 1066. The vast majority of Latin-based words you know in English come directly from French, not Spanish.) Some aspects of Spanish are much more complex than French: forming commands, the fact that Spanish has four words for "you" and French has two, and the fact that the subject of a sentence is often not iterated, which means you have to look at verb endings to know who is doing the action. (Example: Como=I eat. Come=He/she eats. Comen=they or you plural eat. And that's just present tense.)
