Description:
Sodium bicarbonate is basically a chemical compound, which is also often known as baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda and bicarbonate of soda. Students of science and chemistry have also nicknamed sodium bicarbonate as sodium bicarb, bicarb soda.
Sometimes it is also simply known as bi-carb. The Latin name for sodium bicarbonate is Saleratus, which means, 'aerated salt'. Sodium bicarbonate is a component of the mineral Natron, also known as Nahcolite which is usually found in mineral springs, the only natural source of sodium bicarbonate.

Application:
1. Sodium bicarbonate can be directly used as pharmaceutical industry raw materials, used to treat hyperacidity.
2. Sodium bicarbonate can also be used for film production, tanning, mineral processing, smelting, heat treatment of metals, as well as for the fiber and rubber industry.
3. Sodium bicarbonate is widely used as osteoporosis agent in food industry for the production of biscuits, cakes, bread, bread and other is carbon dioxide in soda water generating agent; and alum composite alkaline baking soda, and soda ash composite for civilian soda; can also be used as butter preservation agent.
