Some sixty years have passed in a twinkling since the company's founding in 1947 as Akebono Sangyo, a machine tool dealer. During these years, Akebono has grown up, based on the intent of its founder to value and to achieve its motto of new distribution and new ideas. We have always aimed to be a business that operates one-half step ahead of the times. We have earned trust and a good name from our many trading partners, and in trading with our prominent Kyoto customers above all, we have aimed for and achieved growth to expand business in Japan and abroad. Our work is to partner with our customers to create a bright future together. We support our customers' current work and business, and they allow us to contribute as a partner to their future growth. We are honored to do superb work that supports our customers as they move forward from the present into the future.
This is precisely why we do not focus our business growth only on the pursuit of short-term profits. Instead, we remain steadfastly loyal and honest to our customers, and we have continuously sought various kinds of business in that spirit.
We have a substantial track record in business transactions with Japanese companies that range from major industrial enterprises down to small and medium-sized companies. Among our Japanese customers are blue-chip companies that hold broad technology portfolios. They extend their strengths by dealing with us. In overseas trading, we have over 20 years' experience in trade with South Korean companies. We have plenty of know-how in international trade.
